these are a few of my favorite things.

I may or may not have started a list of all of my favorite moments of every episode of heartstopper and I may or may not start posting them here. Like my very own lil heartstopper feelings diary.

Heartstopper Season 1, Episode 7

Welcome back to my Heartstopper Feelings Diary, the series where I list all the moments of this beautiful show that give me ✨ feelings. ✨ I disappeared for a very long time because depression. Enough said lol.

We’re up to S1E7, which is when things get so sad. Let’s jump in!!

1. Sweet, sweet Nicholas thinks inviting Charlie to hang out with the rugby lads is a good idea. Obviously, it is a very, VERY bad idea. But it all became worth it when Nick reached over to hold Charlie’s hand during the movie. Be still my heart.

2. After the movie, Harry is in rare homophobic form. This show is so pure, and I love that it shows so much queer joy. This moment when Harry used the f slur was a real dark moment for our boys. And while I don’t condone violence under normal circumstances, I am all for Nick punching Harry in the face. Too bad he also got one in return before the other boys jumped in.

3. When Ben cornered Charlie in the parking lot after the movie, my whole heart climbed into my throat. I was so scared for him. Thank god his dad arrived before things could get any worse.

I do want to take this moment to give a special shout out to Sebastian Croft for being literal sunshine. His character is the literal worst, but he is ☀️ 😊 ♥️

4. Silly little Nicholas forgot to tell Charlie about the fight with Harry, so he had to find out when he got to school. When I tell you my heart shattered into pieces when Charlie said he was used to the rugby boys talking shit about him?? And then sweet Nick tells him he “shouldn’t have to be” and lays his head on Charlie’s shoulder. This is the beginning of Charlie’s spiral of thinking Nick would be better off without him.

5. As if that moment didn’t hurt my heart enough, Charlie decides to throw himself on a sword and tries to breakup with Nick. The looks on both of their faces?? No thank you.

6. Now, season 1 Tao and I are not friends. He is obnoxious and selfish. But when he starts fighting with Harry, I felt for him. When he threw the apple juice in Harry’s face? Iconic, honestly. But when someone steps on his potato shoe drawing, my heart got a tiny little crack in it. And even though Tao is always mean to him, our boy Nick didn’t even hesitate before jumping in to save him.

Just the season 1 finale left!

Taylor Zakhar Perez from Book to Screen
I would say this is a really pivotal moment for Alex and Henry

manic-pixie-fever-dream:

October 2, 2020. Alex made his speech and came out as bisexual.

image

image

I absolutely love the concise speech in the movie. The book speech was a bit rambling. And, no! Alex did NOT out Henry with his speech. There was undeniable evidence in the form of emails and video footage out in the public domain already when this speech was made. Denying it would be a grave disservice to the LGBTQ+ community. The speech was also a way to force the hand of the Royal Family.

I also love that the Royal Confrontation with King James III happened after Alex’s speech in the movie(it happens the other way around in the book). I love that Henry himself took back control of his life and Alex was by his side. The book let’s Henry’s mum, Catherine do this job for Henry. Works for the book. But, movie did a better job here.

Let me know your thoughts and perspectives on this. ❤️

3 hours elapse between these two moments. THREE HOURS.

Bear with me here. I have receipts.

So, in the cut scene between Alex’s eyes rolling back into his skull and both men looking a little more relaxed and composed, we’re shown a time lapse of the moon rising over the gloriously phallic Washington monument. Screen grabs here show the start and end of that sequence:

image
image

Now, I happen to know that the moon’s apparent motion in angular distance is approximately 0.5 degrees per hour. In normal-people terms, this means the moon rises in the sky at a speed of about one moon width each hour. If you layer the two frames above and do some very high tech analysis… you get three hours.

Ain’t physics great?

See this is why I’m like, there’s no way they didn’t do more than Alex getting a blowjob; like, sure, Henry doesn’t look tussled up or anything, but Alex looks pretty normal too, and if it’s been 3 hours, it’s very possible that they were done and just got dressed again or whatever 😂

my theory about this deleted scene:

image

it’s alex in paris giving goodbye kisses to henry before taking his plane, i say this because he’s wearing the same clothes as on the plane back home and the suitcase is behind him.

blairwaldcrf:

a series of Alex’s crushes on men that aren’t Henry that still didn’t make him realize he was bisexual, somehow:

Heartstopper Season 1, Episode 6

Welcome back to my Heartstopper Feelings Diary, the series where I list all the moments of this beautiful show that give me ✨ feelings. ✨ We’re up to S1E6, which might be my favorite episode this season. It’s so pure.

1. Nick’s complete bi panic while watching Pirates of the Caribbean is both hilarious and sad. But it helps him realize he needs to do some research, so he watches some videos about bisexuality.

2. I love this episode because it really shows Nick and Tara’s friendship blossoming. This episode shows when he comes out to her. The look on her face when Nick says she is the first person he told was so sweet. She really is his gay yoda.

3. When Nick tells Charlie that he came out to Tara and Darcy, Charlie’s reaction was to literally tackle him. 100/10. He was so proud of Nick, AND it was showing him that this was all real. Nick isn’t Ben and plans on coming out to people. Also bonus points because after Charlie kissed him, Nick flipped them over and I -

4. Nick isn’t done with the happy surprises. He asks Charlie to go on a double date with Tara and Darcy. Charlie’s reaction is so cute.

5. I think my favorite part of this episode is the group text conversation between Nick, Charlie, Tara, and Darcy. Yes it is a funny scene, but it is also Nick building a queer community. These are the only people who truly know him. Nick’s face was just so sweet the whole time. Also bonus points for Darcy calling them all “meddling gays.”

6. Nick and Charlie go on the triple date, and Elle isn’t super happy with them when she finds out what they are up to. But then Nick does an excellent job distracting her by COMING OUT! Charlie’s reaction was so cute - this is the first time Charlie has been able to talk to one of his friends about Nick, and you can just see how happy and relieved he is.

7. Before the concert starts, our boys are sitting at the drums and once again flirting in front of everyone. But this moment is more important than that because Nick tells Charlie he thinks he’s bi for the first time.

Only two episodes left in season 1!
